A letter from Thomas S Monson

I just wanted to start off my blog by sharing my experience of getting my call.  After a long 18 years, I have finally received it!!  If you did not catch it in the video, and yes my pronunciation of where I am going is terrible.

Dear Elder Bigelow,

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Philippines Baguio Mission. Serving for a period of 24 months. You will prepare to preach the Gospel in the Tagalog language.

These are the craziest and sweetest words for me.  To be honest I had no idea where the Philippines were or that it was a country. It came as a complete shock to me.  I can't wait to serve those people and I know Heavenly Father will only bless me for it!! I am sooo excited to serve the lord with all my heart might and mind!!

    Congratulations on your mission call! That is the same mission where my boyfriend is currently serving. With the way he describes his experiences out in the mission field, I know for sure that you will enjoy it there in the Philippines :)
