Well to start off this week's letter, EVERYTHING is OK :) Well at least here in Pangasinan. I couldn't tell you about the other places here in the Philippines. But I was reading about all the destruction that took place in 3rd Nephi and how it helped them realize that they needed to repent. My thoughts are turned here from the earthquake and now hurricane. How these things will help people realize that Heavenly Father is in everything. He has all power and will use these things such as earthquakes and hurricanes to aid his work. I guarantee that more people will join the church now than ever before. Its hard to see things like that happen to people but as we look at it with an eternal eye, this can be the biggest blessing for us as missionaries and for the people of the Philippines. Missionary work in our area just kept on rolling this week. We found 12 new investigators and some of them are the elect, I can tell. Our area got a little stale for a week or 2.
This week has been hard for me in a different sort of way than weather but my attitude. It has been a struggle to work and care about the people. There are many who just flat out reject us. I have been homesick, but I know that I signed up for this. I will give my time and I will find the people that will accept the message. I have figured out that I haven't given up parts of the American culture that are keeping me back from just enjoying my mission completely. I plan to change for the better just let the Lord take the Reigns and forget myself. A mission is nothing about me. Absolutely Nothing. I need to remember its all about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ !!! :) He is the reason.
Anyway things are doing alright :) Things are looking up :) I pray for you always :)
Love,
Elder Bigelow
